December 29, 2006

  • 5:30 race two, day two now finished. Sailors heading back to the beach.

  • 5:15 race two for day two underway. Winds ENE 12-14 knots

  • 4:45 the RC got off a great race in 10-14 knots!

  • 3:40 the "AP" is down, the sun is out, should be some great sailing

  • 3:00 winds are still NNE at 8-14 knots. The RC has headed out to set a course

  • 2:00 a new fresh Northerly wind fills in @10-13 knots.

  • 1:36 after 5 or six major wind shifts the RC abandoned the first race of the day. Sailors will head back to shore for lunch.

  • 1:00 We are underway with winds @ SSW 5-10 knots.

  • 12:30 winds are NNE @ 13 knots on shore at the club and WSW 10 knots offshore. The PRO is trying to get things under way.

  • 12:20 wind report....well many directions right now, "AP" flying from start boat

  • 11:30 wind report: 8-10 NNE "AP" now down

  • 11:00 am wind report: 12-14 knots NNE racing should be soon

  • Today's racing has postponed at the moment with winds at zero to three knots.

The Hogs Breath Cafe Australian Hobie Class Championship web site has gone “live”. Not only with all the Hobie action but with a live web cam. Racing for the first series starts tomorrow (Thursday 28th December 14:00 local time + UTC 0930) Catch all the action the action live as it happens on the web site. See if the New Caledonians can take on former Hobie World Champion Gavin Colby as they battle it out in the Tigers.


In the Hobie 16 Open the might of the United States has come across to challenge the Aussies. Also the New Caledonians, Fiji, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea all out to see who is in the Australian Team are the ones to watch when the Hobie 16 fleet moves to Fiji in October 2007 to compete in the Hobie 16 World Championships. The second series starting January 2nd will be the selection series for the Australian Team.

Registration Opens today, with a few going for a sail. Wind today started light however currently in at 16-18 knots SSW...

Wind Speed at 4:00 PM was 24-28 knots......."a bit on"..

Team Noumea to take on Aussie's in H16 and Hobie Tiger Class

Speaking with the Noumean Team Manager a few days ago about the Hobie 16 Class in Australia, all he said was "Mick who?"....... is he in "fossil class" or "grand masters class?"
